Every Front is the working title for a mid-design game concept.

The idea is to create a persistant world of multi-modal conflict.

Many engines, one universe. No matter what style of game you enjoy, there is a way to compete and help or hurt your side.

Even better, you can develop your own engines to give your team a leg up. We provide an example one for each game, a team that has written improvements has an advantage in playing and recruiting new members.

Development plan:

  • Develop battlefield server and clients for individual battles
    • Real Time Strategy view for commander(s)
    • First Person Shooter client for commando units - receive orders from commander(s) in HUD, not compelled to follow them
    • Puzzle/Tetris/Chess clients to simulate signal intelligence, can effect fog-of-war, enemy-detection range, "off-screen" fire-support readiness etc
    • Flight-simulator - incorporated into FPS?
    • General purpose human intelligence task (see more)
  • Develop planet and galactic-level resource allocation simulation, either turn-based or real-time, includes interstellar shipments, political manuevering, launches individual battle opportunities, could include puzzle games as well
  • Develop "lobby" system of available games
    • Persistant sides battling
    • Available battles, slots for each client-type
    • Persistant player-stats, game originators can choose between multiple suitors

Old-school comments:
Does anybody know of anything similiar? -Casey This rocks soo much...but how many sides or teams will there be? and will it be set in the future (thinking this b/c you wrote about galactic-level stuff) or will there be some kind of "time advancing system" like in age of empires or empire earth?
