Description: In February of 2005, I accompanied my father on a trip to NYC to see The Gates. I enjoyed the installation, and took a great many photos of them, but as a good native SoCalifornian, the frozen hydrant amused and delighted me as well.

Post-production: I'm still learning to make photos like this "pop"; I took my best shot.
